a conversation with OBOT, artist in residency on Life on the Planet Orismanirana.
Perturbant Fluids is a cellular projector made from simple materials. It results from a humid, wet, fluid, sticky, greasy, soaked, contaminated experience – a space where liquids pour. It makes visible the multi-species interdependence that keeps us alive as literally orgasmic. It aims to enhance and disseminate bodily autonomy and rethink possible relationships with the "perturbing" entities that embody us. It is part of ongoing research of radical optical consensus at 100x and 250x, through a commoning hack of the boundaries between what has been labelled for a long time as strictly internal or external to the human body.
OBOT is a project born in 2020 by Maddalena Fragnito and Zoe Romano. Their work is concerned with a trans-feminist and queer perspective in the study of science and technology, where they address methods to lower the barrier towards the production of scientific knowledge by making an inclusive accessibility to tools, protocols and data, and by promoting collaborative inquiry.
